Putnam County Housing Corporation (PCHC) offers an enhanced First Homebuyer Program to prepare you for homeownership readiness. Topics will include, housing goals, credit review, budget, savings, mortgage readiness and finance options.

First Home Buyer Intake Application

Please complete the First Home Buyer Intake Application. Margherita Diaz, HUD Certified Housing Counselor/Housing Program Manager will review the competed form and contact you to schedule an appointment.

Please be sure to fill out all questions on the application.

Section 8 Voucher Homeownership Program

Participants in the Housing Choice Voucher Program in Putnam County, who meet the eligibility requirements, may be able to purchase their own home by allowing the family to use their voucher subsidy to meet monthly homeownership expenses. For more information contact Denene Makkay at Ext. 211.

PCHC partners with eHome America to provide their online Home Buyer Education.

Register through the eHome portal below. *$99 fee. Upon completion of the online training and test, the client is referred to PCHC to complete one hour of counseling and receive their certificate of completion.

Federal Home Loan Bank of New York (FHLBNY)-Homebuyer Dream Program

FHLBNY provides assistance up to $9,500 per eligible household to use for down payment and/or closing cost. The programs eligibility requirements include households earning equal or less than 80 percent of the area median income and to complete homebuyer counseling program.
