Senior Housing

PCHC owns and manages four senior housing complexes in the county: Gleneida Housing; Gleneida Senior Apartments; Lakeview Housing and Senior Housing at Mahopac Hills. There are separate income eligibility guidelines for each complex.

Please be advised there are long waiting lists for tenancy at all of the complexes. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Applicants are placed on the appropriate waiting list according to date and time application is received. When applicant comes to the top of the waiting list they will be notified by mail.

Gleneida Housing

10,12,& 14 Gleneida Court Carmel, NY 10512. A two-story garden apartment complex with 24 units, each are 650 square feet with one-bedroom, full bath, living room and kitchen with small dining area. The Community room is equipped with a full kitchen and walk out patio. Laundry facilities are also on site. Building does not have an elevator, but stair glides are installed for those in need. Tenant pays electric heat and hot water, but receives a utility allowance to offset the cost. Superintendent on site during weekdays. Security Surveillance Systems and generator on premises. Property is designated Non-Smoking.

Gleneida Senior Apartments

20 Gleneida Court Carmel, NY 10512. Two-story complex with 24 units of affordable housing. Building has elevator, community room with full kitchen, on site laundry facilities, game room, computer room, outdoor patio and raised garden beds. Each apartment is 600 square feet with one bedroom, full bath, living room and kitchen with a small dining area. Tenant pays electric. Natural gas heat and hot water is provided by the landlord. Security Surveillance Systems and generator on premises. Property is designated Non-Smoking.

$2.4 million construction costs financed by the New York State Housing Trust Fund and Low Income Tax Credits

Lakeview Housing

Building has elevator, sitting room with television, laundry facilities, community room with full kitchen and walk out patio with raised garden beds. Each apartment contains a bedroom, full bath, living room and kitchen with small dining area. Security Surveillance Systems and generator on premises. Property is designated Non-Smoking.

Senior Housing at Mahopac Hills

170 Route 6 Mahopac, NY 10541. Three-story complex with 48 units, each 540 square feet, feature one bedroom, kitchen, dining area, living room, full bathroom and bedroom. Elevator, outdoor patio, community room, game room, laundry room and sitting room. Within walking distance to William Kohler Senior Nutrition Center. Security Surveillance Systems on premises.  Senior Housing at Mahopac Hills has an on site Superintendent and generator. Property is designated Non-Smoking.

$8.2 million construction costs were financed by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the PRAC 202 Housing for the Elderly Program and the New York State HOME Program
